Best Four Days in London: Ideas for a Break

Four Days in London: We have developed a small guide to enjoy the most attractions in London in just four days. An intense but unforgettable getaway.

London

Four Days in London

Four days in London give a lot. They are not enough to know in depth the city (it is never enough for a city as immeasurable as this one), but if you take advantage of the time we can enjoy many of its charms. Here is our proposal. An intense planning, although not excessively tight, to enjoy each visit and leave something for future trips to the British capital.

We will start with one of the most famous corners of London: Trafalgar Square. Take a morning walk around here, before it collapses, although throughout the day we will return. Our steps will take us to Picadilly Circus, where their neons will be lit even if it is tomorrow.

First Days in London

From there we descend towards Buckingham Palace. Stay tuned because if it’s 11, maybe the official change of guard begins. If not, continue the walk to Westminster Abbey and Parliament, where Big Ben rises.

What a ride! You are tired? Well, look for a pub to eat something. Resume your efforts peacefully, because we must return to Trafalgar Square, although we can do it on the subway. There we invite you to enter the National Gallery. It’s free and you can spend the afternoon between works of unique artists such as Leonardo, Turner or Velazquez.

Time passes quickly and it is almost time for dinner, for which you will find many places in Picadilly. In addition, you may see the poster for a show that you want to attend.

Second day in London

Another symbol of London is its river, the Thames. On its banks, we will start the day. There is the Tate Modern, another free museum, but now of contemporary art, which you may like more. If not, you can always climb the museum’s terrace to admire the views. From there you will see the neighboring Theater The Globe, the place where he premiered many of his Shakespeare plays and we invite you to visit. The guided tours are educational and very entertaining.

After that cross the river by the modern Millennium Bridge, designed by Norman Foster. And from it, you can see our next destination: the Cathedral of San Pablo with its great dome. Admire this impressive building and then look for a place to eat quietly, as well as drink a pint.

Afterward, a relaxed afternoon awaits us. We will take the subway to see the exclusive shops on Oxford Street. If you have to make a gift or you want to buy something, it’s a good time.

WALKING OR PUBLIC TRANSPORT WILL END THE EVENING IN THE DYNAMIC NEIGHBORHOOD OF COVENT GARDEN, WHERE THERE IS NEVER A LACK OF THINGS TO SEE, MUSICIANS TO LISTEN TO OR PUBS TO ENTER.

Third day in London

We have already crossed the equator of our four days in London. The third day we can also start shopping, but now we will go to Portobello Road and Notting Hill. So, wandering almost unintentionally, we reached Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. A fabulous place to eat a picnic today.

And again look for a subway stop, The Tube, as they call it here because it’s so narrow. The idea is to get closer in the afternoon to the area of the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge, the most famous mobile bridge in the city.

For him or for the other nearby bridges you can cross the river. This way we will reach the Borough market, where we can dine dishes from any gastronomy in the world.

Fourth and last day in London

Our four days in London are sold out. We are not even going to spend a whole day since our plane departs in the afternoon. So we recommend only two visits. One is the British Museum. No need to enter their rooms, but only to its incredible lobby, for which you do not have to pay.

Then return to the Thames and ride the London Eye. A very expensive Ferris wheel, but the best way to say goodbye to London, taking the whole city before our eyes and under our feet.
